Stronger Collaboration, Better Health
Global Action Plan for Healthy Lives and Well-being for All

Closure statement
The SDG3 GAP has concluded
The Global Action Plan for Healthy Lives and Well-being for All (SDG3 GAP) was launched in 2019 by 13 multilateral health, development and humanitarian agencies to strengthen collaboration and accelerate progress on the health-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In 2024, an independent evaluation concluded that the GAP framework had not delivered as intended and could not be sustained. While acknowledging the significant efforts and investments made through the SDG3 GAP, and remaining committed to closer collaboration in support of supporting countries achieve the SDGs, the signatory agencies agreed to bring the initiative to a close in 2025.
A lessons learned report has been developed to reflect on the GAP’s six-year journey, capturing key insights and forward-looking recommendations for future collaborative efforts in global health. Visitors to this page can also explore country experiences and case studies in both written and video format, along with previous progress reports that document the evolution of the initiative.
