Professor Alfonso Iorio
Biography
Dr Alfonso Iorio is Professor of Clinical Epidemiology and Medicine at McMaster University, Canada
He is Chair of the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact and lead of the Hemophilia-Niagara Hemophilia Program.
He is the Principal Investigator of the Web Application for Population Pharmacokinetic in Hemophilia project (WAPPS-Hemo), co-investigator of the Patient Reported Outcomes, Burden, and Experiences (PROBE) research program, and Chair of the Canadian Bleeding Disorders Registry committee (CBDR-C).
Outside Hemophilia, his current research interests include internet-based knowledge retrieval and dissemination, risk prediction and stratification, and artificial intelligence application to all of them. He has chaired or participated to several guideline panels (hemophilia, thrombophilia, TTP, CAPS, Chronic pain). He is a member of the GRADE working group, ASH, ISTH, HTAi.
Dr Iorio is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and has been inducted in the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences in 2021.
