Professor Andrea Biondi

Andrea Biondi is the Director of the Pediatric Department, Professor of Pediatrics and Director of the Pediatric Residency Program at the University of Milano-Bicocca, Monza, Italy. The Department runs the two largest programs in Italy for pediatric hematology-oncology and congenital metabolic disorders. His research focuses on the molecular characterization of pediatric leukemia, as well as the diagnostic use of molecular tools in clinical studies. His research has resulted in more than 500 peer-reviewed publications. He was Member of the European Hematology Association (EHA), President of the European Society for Paediatric Oncology (SIOPE) and, since April 2016, he is chairing the Berlin-Frankfurt-Münster (BFM) international group to advance the cure of paediatric leukaemias and lymphomas.
