Biography

Barbara is a senior global public health professional specializing in monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL), including implementation research and use of health data for action in low- and middle-income countries. She has more than 20 years of technical and managerial experience with MEL for reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health (RMNCH) programs. Technical focus areas include building individual and organizational MEL capacity, applying new complexity aware MEL approaches, strengthening health information systems, measuring and improving quality of care and supporting data-driven decision making at all levels of the health system. She also has extensive experience with strategic planning, team leadership and results-oriented program management. Through short and long-term efforts, she has supported MEL activities across sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, and the Caribbean.
