Prof Bijie Hu

Director, Department of Infectious Diseases, Zhongshan Hospital of Fudan University and director, Institute of Hospital Infection and Control, Fudan University 

Dr Hu is a renowned expert in infectious diseases in China, currently serving as director of the Department of Infectious Diseases at Zhongshan Hospital of Fudan University. With over 30 years of clinical and research experience, Dr Hu has dedicated his career to the precise diagnosis, treatment and prevention of acute respiratory tract infections. He also holds key positions as the director of the Institute of Hospital Infection and Control at Fudan University and the Shanghai Nosocomial Infection Quality Control Center. Dr Hu has been instrumental in pioneering IPC in China, introducing international best practices and helping to manage major outbreaks such as SARS, H5N1, H7N9, H1N1 and COVID-19. His contributions have been recognized with numerous awards, including the National Advanced Individual in the fight against COVID-19.
