Dr Carla Voto
Biography
Professional adviser in epidemiological surveillance of acute respiratory infections, influenza and other respiratory viruses, preparation and control for the National Directorate of Epidemiology and Strategic Information, Ministry of Health, Argentina.
Dr Carla Voto obtained her medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and completed her paediatric training at the Children’s Hospital R. Gutierrez academic unit, certified by UBA. Between 2015 and 2020, she completed a postgraduate residency programme in paediatric infectious disease and a fellowship in hospital epidemiology at Professor Dr Juan P. Garrahan Paediatric Hospital, a third level and national reference centre. In 2017, Dr Voto earned a professional diploma in hygiene and tropical medicine from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She also completed a master’s programme in clinical effectiveness, specializing in clinical and epidemiological research, and a programme in real-world evidence at the Institute for Clinical Effectiveness and Health Policy, which is affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at UBA. In recent years, Dr Voto has served as a professional adviser for epidemiological surveillance, preparation, prevention and control of acute respiratory infections with epidemic and pandemic potential at the Directorate of Epidemiology of the National Ministry of Health, Argentina. She also conducts clinical work at Francisco Muñiz Infectious Diseases Hospital in Buenos Aires and serves as an adviser in epidemiological research at Professor Dr Juan P. Garrahan Paediatric Hospital.
