Biography
Christian Happi is a Distinguished Professor of Molecular Biology and Genomics at Redeemer’s University and Director of ACEGID in Ede, Nigeria. He is an Adjunct Professor at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Boston, United States or America.
His team performed the first SARS-CoV-2 sequence in Africa, within 48 hours of receiving sample.
He has received several awards including the 2019 Human Genome Organization Africa Prize; the 2020 Bailey K. Ashford Medal; the 2021 Al-Sumait Prize for African Development. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Science and a member of the US National Academy of Medicine.
