Dr David Atchoarena

Dr. David Atchoarena assumed leadership of the WHO Academy in May 2023. Prior to joining WHO, he held pivotal roles at UNESCO, focusing on capacity building, policy work, and knowledge production across the vocational education, adult learning, and higher education sectors. Most recently, he served as Director of UNESCO’s Institute for Lifelong Learning. He holds a doctorate in economics from the Sorbonne University in Paris.
