Ms Dhouha Hamdani

Biography

Lead of the national infection prevention and control programme, Ministry of Public Health, Qatar 

With over a decade of experience in IPC, Ms Dhouha Hamdani currently serves as the lead of the National IPC Program at the Ministry of Public Health in Qatar. In this role, she leads the planning, development, implementation, coordination and evaluation of system-wide improvement in IPC. Ms Hamdani initiated the risk assessment and operational plan for the 2022 International Federation of Association Football World Cup held in Qatar. There, she outlined IPC’s role and responsibilities in the strategic planning of mass gatherings. Ms Hamdani has contributed to the national preparedness plan for emerging and re-emerging diseases, including sourcing all required logistics, training staff on IPC and PPE use, conducting simulation training and raising public awareness. In addition, she has organized and conducted numerous IPC education and awareness activities covering topics such as COVID-19, MERS-CoV and emergency preparedness. Ms Hamdani has participated as a speaker and moderator in national and international conferences and meetings, including the Quadripartite Global Technical Meeting on MERS-CoV and zoonotic coronaviruses, hosted by WHO.
