Dr Abdullah Assiri

Dr Abdullah Assiri is currently the  Assistant Deputy Minister for Preventive Health at the Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia.   

He was previously the Director of the Infection Prevention and Control administration within the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Health. He has also served as a member of the WHO IHR Emergency Committee on MERS-CoV and was heavily involved in the initial descriptions of MERS-CoV in Saudi Arabia. He was also part of the WHO joint mission to China.
