Dr Emilie J. Calvello Hynes

Emilie Calvello Hynes, MD, MPH currently serves as a technical officer for Emergency and Critical Care for the World Health Organization. She received training in clinical medicine, public health, and policy and economics at prestigious academic medical centres in the USA and UK, and subsequently specialized in disaster relief, austere trauma, and emergency care. She spent her early career in humanitarian crisis response in multiple countries with various international NGOs and then pivoted her career to strengthen health systems to deliver emergency care in low- and middle-income countries. She has served as a subject matter expert to various Ministries of Health, the World Bank, WHO Headquarters and Country Offices and the US State Department.
