Dr Gianfranco Spiteri

Dr Spiteri is Group Lead of the Epidemic Intelligence Group at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), Sweden. From 2011 until 202, Dr Spiteri was responsible for surveillance of sexually transmitted infections at ECDC. Prior to his assignment to ECDC, Dr Spiteri worked at the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Unit, Department of Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, Malta.

Dr Spiteri earned a Degree of Doctor in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Malta, is a registered public health specialist, and completed the European Programme for Intervention Epidemiology Training (EPIET).
