Biography

Dr Ahmed, MBBS, MSc Public Health, is a renowned Public Health professional with over 30 years of experience in national and international assignments in varieties of cross-cultural settings in South Asia, Central Asia & Africa. 

Prior to his current position, he worked as Director- Health, Director of HIV/AIDS and South Asia Health Program Advisor with Save the Children USA, various seniors positions with CARE International, and UND Program Director for Child Survival Program (CSP) in Uzbekistan funded by USAID. He has expertise’s in managing large-scale and partnership programs in Health & Development sectors, including maternal, newborn, child, adolescent health and nutrition (MNCAHN), Immunization, Adolescent Sexual & Reproductive Health (ASRH), HIV/AIDS, Tobacco Control and prevention of NCDs, COVID 19 pandemic management & telehealth services in collaboration with Government, donors, UN agencies, NGOs/CSOs, private sectors, and academia for achieving impact at scale.

He has proven experience in high-level advocacy for influencing policies and programs in collaboration with Parliamentarians and policymakers.  Dr. Ahmed has made significant contributions in MNCAHN, HIV/AIDS & telehealth through his engagement and leadership in child Health, including immunization, child Survival interventions, and IMCI; He provided leadership in orchestrating Global Fund mechanisms in Bangladesh with Government, key partners, and CSOs/NGOs for large scale national strategic responses for delivering impact from 2005-2012. He has received several awards for his performance, like Award for Champion in HIV/AIDS by Rotary International, President’s award, the Global Health award, Dr. Muhammd Shahidullah Gold Medal for COVID 19 management and several appreciations for performance delivery with partners.
