Dr Patricia Hall

Biography

Dr Patricia Hall is the Team Lead for the International Laboratory Branch TB and Clinical Monitoring Team at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), manages a WHO Supranational TB Reference Laboratory (Atlanta, GA USA) and serves as the Vice-Chair of the Stop TB Partnership’s Global Laboratory Initiative. She holds a PhD in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from Emory University and a Master of Science in Vertebrate Paleontology. At CDC, Patricia supervises College of American Pathologists- and American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA)-accredited TB and CD4 testing laboratories and testing procedures, oversees the administration of a global TB molecular proficiency testing program that serves more than 1100 testing sites across 27 countries, ensures team support for quality TB/HIV laboratory services within US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief country programmes, and works with partner organizations and Ministries of Health to develop practical guidance and programs that strengthen quality and technical laboratory management systems. Patricia contributes her 18 years of laboratory research and project management experience to collaborations with US and global partners to strengthen patient access to quality laboratory services in countries with moderate to high burdens of drug-sensitive, drug-resistant and/ or HIV-associated TB.
