Dr Rhoda Wanyenze

Dr Rhoda Wanyenze, MBChB, MPH, PhD, is a Professor and Dean at Makerere University School of Public Health. Prof. Wanyenze has vast experience in public health research, capacity building, and program management, especially in infectious diseases, sexual and reproductive health, and health systems. She has wide experience in partnerships with academic institutions in Africa, USA, and Europe. She has recently completed an evaluation of the COVID-19 response across five countries in Africa, with Funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Gates Ventures, and the Partnership to enhance technical support for analytical capacity and data use for HIV, TB and Malaria in 13 countries in Africa, with funding from the Global Fund. She has served on several Boards and Committees in Uganda (including the Covid-19 Scientific Advisory Committee and the Vaccine Advisory Committee) and globally and has since January 2023 joined the Board of Gavi as an Alternate Member representing the Research and Technical Health Institute (RTHI) Constituency.
