Dr Soewarta Kosen

Dr Soewarta Kosen is a policy researcher at National Institute of Health Research and Development Indonesia. He is an expert on national health and economic policy. He has extensive experience in public health development at district and national levels. His scientific expertise covers Civil Registration and Vital Statistics and International Classification of Diseases, Multiple causes of deaths, health equity, primary health care, universal health coverage, health financing and insurance and health policy formulation.

Dr Koen has published widely on health systems in influential scientific journals.

Dr Kosen received his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Health Systems from the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health and has a Master’s of Public Health (MPH) from the University of the Philippines and a Doctor of Science (MD) from the University of Indonesia.
