Victor De Andrade

Biography

Professor Victor de Andrade is an audiologist and associate professor in the Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, as well as the assistant dean in the Faculty. He has reviewed and published in scholarly journals and has presented at national and international conferences. Prof de Andrade has also been invited to advise and consult on hearing and assistive technology to the WHO, UNICEF, and WIPO. He also sits on the University Council, Human Research Ethics Committee (Medical), and the University Research and Innovation Committee and is a member of the Disability Interest Group. His research interests include, socio-cultural and contextual aspects of deafness, noise in learning environments, disability, sexuality, professional matters, ethics and bioethics, research methodologies, gerontological audiology, vestibular audiology, and assistive technologies
