Dr Ehsan Mostafavi

Director of the Research Centre for Emerging and Reemerging Infectious Diseases in Pasteur institute of Iran, Iran

Biography

After obtaining his PhD in Epidemiology, Dr Mostafavi joined the Pasteur Institute of Iran where he currently holds the position of director at the research center for emerging and reemerging infectious diseases. Additionally, he is actively involved as a board member of the Iranian Epidemiological Association and a member of the Iranian Academy of Medical Sciences. Dr Mostafavi is affiliated with the International Epidemiological Association and the WHO Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network (GOARN). He has contributed as a temporary advisor to WHO EMRO on zoonotic infections and is listed as an expert in the human-animal interface on the IHR roster of experts at WHO. His research interests primarily focus on emerging infectious diseases prevalent in Iran, including Plague, Q fever, Tularemia, Rickettsial infections, CCHF, Dengue fever, Chikungunya, West Nile fever, Rabies, and Rift valley fever.
