Dr Elizabeth Katwesigye

Dr Elizabeth Katwesigye is an internal medicine physician and IPC practitioner with 10 years’ experience in health systems strengthening and capacity building in the field of infectious diseases. In her current position as an IPC specialist, she supports the national IPC committee to develop the national IPC programme in collaboration with partners and stakeholders. In addition, she led the national IPC sub pillar in developing guidelines, standard operating procedures and training materials and tailored them for local use in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2022 Sudan Ebolavirus outbreak. Dr Katwesigye has extensive experience in IPC and is currently pursuing a degree to further specialize in IPC.
