Ms Fatima Tsiouris
Biography
Fatima Tsiouris is the Senior Director for Catalytic Initiatives and Program Optimization at EGPAF. She has 20 years of experience managing, coordinating and directing major health development projects in the areas of HIV management, maternal child health, quality improvement, health worker capacity building and HIV/nutrition. She has directed and supported the implementation of HIV and PMTCT/MCH related projects in over 20 countries in Saharan Africa, Asia and Central/South America. She has led the design, implementation and evaluation of a number of implementation science evaluations including supporting integration of Family Planning and HIV services in Zambia, Birth testing pilot in Eswatini, and overseeing quality improvement collaboratives to improve HEI testing in Cameroon and improve retention among PMTCT clients in Mozambique. Her research interests have focused on optimizing maternal and child health services using a human-centered design lens in developing differentiated models of care for women and children.
She has played an integral role in PMTCT program activities since the inception of the Global Plan towards the elimination of new HIV infections in children by 2015, serving as the co-chair of Global Monitoring and Evaluation Technical Working Group of the Interagency Task Team (IATT) on PMTCT comprised of 20 member agencies and serving as the Co-lead of the Start Free Working Group of the Start Free, Stay Free, AIDS Free framework for ending AIDS in children, adolescents and young women by 2020.
