Gabriela Repetto
Biography
Dr Repetto is a Pediatrician, Medical Geneticist and Professor of Genetics at Facultad de Medicina Clinica Alemana Universidad del Desarrollo in Santiago, Chile. Her educational, research and clinical work is aimed at contributing to improve health for persons with rare disorders through the use, implementation and evaluation of genomic strategies.
She created and led the Center for Genetics and Genomics at Universidad del Desarrollo for 15 years, now a large and thriving team that works on different aspects of genomics and health. Dr. Repetto currently directs the interdisciplinary Rare Diseases Program, linking clinical, molecular, bioinformatics and social science investigators. Dr. Repetto has served as President of the Chilean Genetics Society and as advisor to the Ministry of Health and the National Funding Agency for Science and Technology in Chile. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Global Genomic Medicine Consortium.
She obtained her MD degree from P. Universidad Católica de Chile, completed a Pediatrics residency at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (USA) and a fellowship in Genetics at Boston Children´s Hospital (USA).
