Professor Gilbert Kokwaro

Gilbert Kokwaro is a pharmacist, specializing in pharmacokinetics and clinical pharmacology of medicines used in infectious tropical diseases, and also a health care system and services specialist. He is currently Director of Institute of Healthcare Management, Strathmore University, Kenya. He is a Professor at the Strathmore University and Nairobi University where he teaches Health Systems Research and Pharmacy. He has been appointed by the Kenyan Ministry of Health as Chairman of the National Expert Committee on Clinical Trials, Pharmacy and Poisons Board and as member of the Advisory Panel on Health Benefits Package for Universal Health Coverage. He is a Fellow of the Kenya Academy of Science, and the African Academy of Science.
