Biography

Graham Cooke is an academic physician based at Imperial College London whose practice covers infectious diseases and internal medicine. Prior to his current position, he was based in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, researching the impact of HIV anti-retroviral therapy scale-up towards the goal of universal access to comprehensive HIV prevention programmes, treatment, and care. His current research focusses on diagnostic development and precision medicine, particularly to address the global challenge of viral hepatitis elimination.  He led the Lancet Commission on Accelerating the Elimination of viral hepatitis in 2019. The same year he was appointed to the UK Expert groups in HIV and hepatitis (the latter as convenor) for the Infected Blood Inquiry.
