Biography

Dr Jameela Al Salman is an associate professor at Arabian Gulf University
and a senior consultant in infectious diseases and geriatric medicine. She
serves as the chairperson of the medical departments and of the Infection
Control and Quality Department at King Hamad American Mission Hospital.
Additionally, she chairs the Bahrain Infectious Disease and Medical
Microbiology Association and heads IPC at King Abdullah University Hospital. She
graduated with honours from Arabian Gulf University and holds triple American
Board certifications. Her training includes an internal medicine residency at
Hahnemann University, a fellowship in geriatric medicine at Temple University,
and a fellowship in infectious diseases at Yale University. She also holds a
board certification in IPC and the American Board of Medical Quality. Dr Al Salman
has received several awards, including recognition by His Majesty the King of
Bahrain for her contributions to clinical services and the antibiotic
stewardship programme. She received the Excellence for Arab Women in Medicine Award
from the League of Arab States and was ranked in the top 2% of most-cited scientists
worldwide by the Stanford Scientist Ranking in 2021. She has numerous
publications in peer-reviewed journals and is actively involved in educational activities
and professional societies.
