Jose Guilherme Cecatti
Biography
He is an MD (1981), with MSc (1990) and PhD (1991) in Obstetrics & Gynaecoly at the University of Campinas (Brazil). He obtained an MSc in Epidemiology (1993) at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (UK) sponsored by a scholarship from the CNPq (Brazilian National Research Council). He is currently Full Professor of Obstetrics (since 2006) and Coordinator of the Post Graduate Program in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the School of Medical Sciences, University of Campinas (Brazil). Academic appointments in research-oriented and capacity building activities in the University of Campinas, including coordinator of the Post Graduate Program on Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He is an honorary member of Cemicamp (Center for Studies in Reproductive Health of Campinas), a private non-profit research institution. His main fields of interest and work are maternal and perinatal health, reproductive health, maternal mortality and morbidity, prematurity, networks on maternal and perinatal health. he is the tutor and co-tutor of about 80 master’s and PhD students and has more than 310 articles published in peer reviewed journals and indexed in PubMed.
