Dr Kalisvar Marimuthu earned his medical degree from the University of Malaya in 2003 and a master’s degree in epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He completed his training in IPC as a senior research fellow at the IPC Unit of Geneva University Hospital. Currently, he serves as the head of the IPC and Outreach (ICON) Office and is a consultant in the Department of Infectious Diseases at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) and Tan Tock Seng Hospital in Singapore. Additionally, Dr Marimuthu is an adjunct assistant professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and a consultant for infection control at Woodlands Health and the Institute of Mental Health. He played a key role in Singapore's COVID-19 pandemic response at both the national and facility levels. His primary research interests include the transmission dynamics of emerging infectious diseases and multidrug-resistant organisms.
