Kathleen Hill

Dr. Hill is a family physician with 20 years of service delivery, program management and quality improvement experience in low, middle and high-income settings. She participates in many strategic global and regional initiatives, providing leadership for advancing maternal, newborn, and reproductive health (RMNH).

Using local data to measure and drive improved performance and accountability, Dr. Hill works closely with colleagues, Ministry of Health counterparts, and front-line providers/managers in MCSP-supported countries to increase equitable access to and delivery of effective and respectful RMNH interventions.

Most recently, she served as Deputy Director and Maternal Child Health and Family Planning Technical Lead on the global USAID Applying Science to Strengthen Health Systems (ASSIST) project. She also served as senior Technical Advisor for the USAID Translating Research into Action (TRAction) project, where she supported implementation research on respectful maternity care and other topics.

Born in Nigeria, Kathleen speaks fluent French and good Hausa, and has lived and worked extensively in West Africa. Her professional experience extends to numerous countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, as well as Latin America and the Caribbean and Eastern Europe. Dr. Hill continues to provide part-time clinical care in a Washington, DC Community Health Center with Unity Health Care, serving a primarily immigrant population.
