Marian Knight
Biography
Marian Knight is the Maternal and Child Population Health Professor at the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit at Nuffield Department of Population Health, University of Oxford. She has led trials in pregnant women (ANODE trial of antibiotic prophylaxis after operative vaginal birth) and for neonates (FROSTTIE trial of frenotomy and breastfeeding support for infants with tongue-tie). She has experience as the pregnancy lead for trials in general populations, such as the RECOVERY trial to ensure inclusion of pregnant women in wider trials where they have the potential to benefit. She has experience assessing clinical trial design at a funder level as chair of the UK National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Health Technology Assessment Commissioning Committee and as Programme Director for the NIHR Research for Patient Benefit Programme. She is an Honorary Consultant in Public Health at the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities.
