Marina Melkumova
Biography
Dr Marina Melkumova is a pediatrician, adolescent health program coordinator at Arabkir Medical Centre- Institute of Child and Adolescent Health in Yerevan, Armenia and teaching assistant of the Department of Family Medicine of the National Institute of Health in Yerevan.
She has been involved in the design and implementation of several programs, studies and policies devoted to school and adolescent health in Armenia since 2005. She is Co-Principal Investigator of the Health Behaviour of School-aged Children (HBSC) WHO Collaborative Cross-national study in Armenia, Principal Investigator of the WHO European Childhood Obesity Surveillance Initiative (COSI) study in Armenia. She was Principal Investigator of WHO Feasibility Study in Armenia on indicators for adolescent health measurement, Principal Investigator of short and intermediate term outcomes of CSE in Armenia (UNESCO/Torchlight Collective).
For many years she is a key National Expert of Healthy Life Style Curriculum in schools of Armenia. Within the frames of these programs she has collaborated closely with national authorities, international organizations such as WHO, UNFPA, UNAIDS, UNESCO etc. As an international expert she provided consultancy in Georgia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan etc.
She is a member of WHO Technical Group on School Health Services Implementation Guidance. She is a co-author of tens of publications in scientific journals, delivered reports and lectures at many international conferences and meetings.
