Dr Masayuki Saijo

Dr Masayuki Saijo is the Director of Medical Affairs as part of the Sapporo City Health and Welfare Bureau in Sapporo, Japan. He is the chief officer for the Welfare Bureau for the COVID-19 response. He has experience in emerging virus infections and re-emerging infections including viral hemorrhagic fevers. He is also the chief medical officer for the COVID-19 response in the Sapporo City Health & Welfare Bureau. He has studied high consequence pathogens in the National Institute of Infectious Diseases, Tokyo, Japan, under collaborations with international partners. His expertise is in high consequence pathogens virology as well as having experience in emerging virus infections and re-emerging infections including viral hemorrhagic fevers.
