May Agius

Biography

Dr May Agius is a Maltese professional. Her expertise lies in the field of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and electronic assistive technologies for accessing education and employment. For the past 15 years, she has worked with Malta’s national assistive technology service, the Access to Communication and Technology Unit (ACTU). This includes practical experience working with clients as well as a leadership role that involves developing the service and mentoring new professionals entering the field. As part of her role with the team, she serves as co-chair for the Person-Centred Technology member forum of the European Association of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities (EASPD). She currently lectures on the subject of AAC at the University of Malta and is actively involved in research, having been published on multiple occasions.
