Biography

Melanie Taylor MD, MPH is a medical epidemiologist in the Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention at the National Center for HIV, Hepatitis, STD and TB Prevention of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She is a Captain in the United States Public Health Service. Dr Taylor served as a medical officer with the WHO Department of Reproductive Health and Research, STI Programme, from 2016 to 2020. She is a practicing HIV physician at the Phoenix Indian Medical Center and is currently assigned by CDC to the Arizona State Health Department, USA.

Melanie Taylor received her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine degrees at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She completed her internal medicine residency, infectious disease fellowship, and Master of Public Health at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. She maintains clinical board certifications in internal medicine and infectious disease and certification with the American Academy of HIV Medicine (AAHIVM). Her recent publications focus on STI surveillance and prevention of congenital syphilis.
