Mr Dicky Komar
Biography
As an active Indonesian diplomat since joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia in 1990, Mr Komar has more than 30 years of diplomatic experience mostly in multilateral affairs, both in the country and in his previous diplomatic posts in Belgium, US, Switzerland, and Thailand.
Throughout his career, Mr Komar mainly covers human rights, humanitarian, and social development issues at the national, bilateral, regional, and global levels. On human rights issues, he also covers Universal Periodic Review mechanism of the UN Human Rights Council since its first session in 2008. During his assignment in Permanent Mission of the Republic of Indonesia to the United Nations in Geneva in 2010 to 2013, he covered Human Rights Council and various UN Specialized Agencies, including WHO, ILO, IPU, UNISDR, and IOM. In 2017, he was the Officer in Charge for Indonesia’s third report under Universal Periodic Review mechanism of the UN Human Rights Council.
Mr Komar also has broad experience as organizer as well as active participant and speaker to various bilateral, regional and global conferences and meetings on different topics of human rights, social, and humanitarian affairs.
