Biography
Munir M. Merali is a senior executive and global advisor with nearly five decades of experience in international relations, development, and diplomacy, alongside three decades in healthcare, education, and economic development. He serves as Executive Chairman of Synergies Worldwide, Senior Advisor to the Harvard Business School's South Asia Advisory Board, and Co-founder & CEO of Samena Management Consultancies. Previously, he spent 25 years with the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), leading cross-border initiatives in health systems, governance, and economic development across Central and South Asia. He has been instrumental in advancing AI-driven healthcare solutions and fostering sustainable development. Munir holds degrees in pharmaceutical sciences (St. John’s University), business administration (University of Toronto), and public administration (Harvard Kennedy School), with executive education from Harvard Business School. He is currently enrolled in MIT’s Chief Sustainability Officer Program and remains committed to ethical AI, sustainability, and transformative policy engagement
