Nathan Mulure

Biography

Nathan Mulure, a medical doctor MD, MPH, MSc, with over 20 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical Industry. He started his career as a medical doctor in Kenya, then worked for MSF, Sanofi and more recently Novartis. He has extensive knowledge in the access to medicines/commodities program, having championed one of the largest corporate social responsibility programs under the Novartis Malaria Initiatives as head of operations in Africa. He has greatly contributed to health systems strengthening in various countries in close collaboration with academia, NGOs, Governments, and patient groups. In his capacity as company representative, he also participated in various forums at the Africa CDC level in the discussions for Partnerships for African Vaccine Manufacturing, building local capabilities, clinical trials support and training of health care workers.  He has a great passion for preventative medicine, vaccines being a key pillar in disease prevention. He understands the African medical and pharmaceutical landscape very well, having covered multiple countries in the course of duty. He has great knowledge of supply chain bottlenecks and how digitalization can help ease logistics. Currently, he is the managing partner of a consulting firm, that seeks to increase access to diagnostics, early disease detection and prompt treatment on a large scale, especially targeting infectious and cardiovascular diseases.
