Dr Patrick Okwen

Patrick Okwen is a District Medical Officer in Cameroon and Team lead at eBASE Africa. He has a background training in medicine and health economics. He manages the health services of his region, Bali, ensuring smooth running of the district, effective supply chain of essential medicines, appropriate use of medicines, and medicine policy proposals to improve quality of care. Patrick has a keen interest in evidence-based medicine, global health, and maternal and child health. He is a member of the Guidelines International Network Board of trustees, a Joanna Briggs Evidence Based Clinical Fellow, and an affiliate investigator of the Bruyère Research Institute in Canada. Patrick is leading a regional innovation project to disseminate clinical practice guidelines to clinicians in Middle Africa, known as the EBMAfricaNet.
