Biography

Professor Hayfaa Wahabi completed my training as an obstetrician and gynaecologist in The United Kingdom and worked in different posts. She worked in Saudi Arabia as a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist. Professor Wahabi developed an interest in maternal epidemiology, evidence-based health care, and translational research. She joined the Cochrane Childbirth Group as an author to conduct a Systematic Review on (Progestogen for treating threatened miscarriage). In 2009, she joined The Research Chair of Evidence-Based Health Care and Knowledge Translation of King Saud University. Since she joined the research chair, she and her colleagues have published high-quality research that informed policy and contributed to guidance in maternity health in the Middle East and Globally. She was a member of more than one WHO guidelines development group. The main areas of research interest are 1) Pre-gestational and gestational diabetes mellitus, 2) Obesity in pregnancy, and 3) Evidence-based public health.
