Dr Jaime Z Galvez Tan

Dr Jaime Galvez Tan has dedicated his career and professional life to achieving UHC in the Philippines. In his 49 years of work in community medicine and public health, he has advocated for health for all.  

He founded Health Futures Foundation Inc to create communities of health and wellness in rural areas where primary health care is not accessible - this programme was awarded international and national recognition as a model for social innovations in health. Jaime previously served as Secretary of the Philippine Department of Health and Regional Adviser for Health and Nutrition and Chairperson of the WHO Committee to eliminate Lymphatic Filariasis. 

He also served as Vice Chancellor for Research and Development of the University of the Philippines Manila and concurrent Executive Director of the National Institutes of Health Philippines.
