Professor Nuray Kanbur
Biography
Dr Kanbur, MD, FSAHM, completed her medical degree and pediatric residency training at Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey. She is a faculty member of the Department of Pediatrics and Division of Adolescent Medicine at Hacettepe University since 2000. She completed Adolescent Medicine clinical fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. Dr Kanbur became a Full Professor in 2011 at Hacettepe University and also joined Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) in 2021 as a Professor of Pediatrics, University of Ottawa, and works in the Division of Adolescent Medicine. She is the Medical Director of Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders Program, CHEO.
Dr Kanbur is the immediate Past-President of the International Chapter and was a board member of the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine. She also served on the International Pediatric Association Strategic Advisory Committee on Adolescent Health. Dr. Kanbur is one of the few national leaders in Adolescent Medicine in Turkey and founder of the Ph.D. Program of Adolescent Health and Medicine under the Institute of Child Health at Hacettepe University. She has served on many national and international committees related to child and adolescent health, diversity and education. She is active in research and published in various adolescent health and medicine areas, including diversity and gender equity. Dr. Kanbur has given numerous presentations at many international conferences and is a well-recognized clinician, researcher, and advocate in the field of adolescent health and medicine.
