Dr Sandra Dudareva
Biography
Sandra Dudareva is Medical Doctor And Epidemiologist with extensive experience in hepatitis B epidemiology and research. Since November 2016 she is a co-lead for viral hepatitis team at the national public health institute of Germany, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI). Her main tasks in this capacity include planning and conduction of surveillance, monitoring and research of viral hepatitis B and D at national level. In cooperation with WHO and ECDC she is involved in viral hepatitis monitoring and elimination activities at international level. Since 3rd March 2021 she is co-head of WHO Collaborating Centre for viral hepatitis and HIV based in Unit for HIV/AIDS, STI and Blood-borne Infections at RKI. Since September 2017 she is member of WHO ETAGE (European Technical Advisory Group of Experts on Immunization) working group on hepatitis B that provides independent review and expert technical input to ETAGE.
Prior to joining RKI as European field epidemiology programme fellow in 2009, she has been working on HIV surveillance and research, including harm reduction, in the AIDS Prevention Centre (later Public Health Agency) in Latvia. Between 2012 and November 2016 she has been working in field of sexually transmitted infections at the RKI.
