Séni Kouanda

Medical epidemiologist, senior researcher and head of the public health department of “Institut de Recherche en Sciences de la Santé” (IRSS), professor of epidemiology of “Institut Africain de santé publique”(IASP), EDCTP senior research fellow.
He has carried out research on various topics including HIV/AIDS, reproductive health, nutrition, infectious diseases, and non-communicable diseases and, health system research. His is widely published in peer review journals with more than 200 journal articles. He has conducted research studies for many funders (WHO/HRP, WHO/TDR, EDCTP, UNICEF, WB, UNFPA, USAID, EU, IDRC) in the context of several West African countries. Over the past ten years he conducted many research projects in Burkina Faso and other West African countries using quantitative and qualitative methods.
