Professor Shalini Sri Ranganathan

Shalini Sri Ranganathan is Professor in Pharmacology and Specialist in Pediatrics at the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. Her research interests are mainly in the area of medicines for children, notably safety of medicines and vaccines, pharmacovigilance, drug utilization, antibiotic consumption and access to essential medicines. She has won numerous medals and awards during her professional career, including the President’s Award for Scientific Publication in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017. She serves on many national and international organizations and is a member of the editorial board of the Ceylon Medical Journal. She has served on several WHO committees over the years, including recent WHO guidelines on medicines for COVID-19, and the Expert Committee on Selection and Use of Essential Medicines.
