Biography

Solange Baptiste is Executive Director of the International Treatment Preparedness Coalition (ITPC). She leads community activists and allies across the globe to deliver ITPC’s mission to enable people in need to access optimal and affordable HIV treatment.

Solange Baptiste has more than 15 years of experience in global programme management, advocacy and monitoring and evaluation. She earned a BS in Biology from Tuskegee University and her MSc in Population and International Health from the Harvard School of Public Health.

Before joining ITPC, she worked on health and development projects across Latin America, the Caribbean, eastern Europe, Africa and Asia, which enabled her to obtain in-depth knowledge in social and political epidemiology, health financing, health education and community system strengthening.

Solange is committed to ensuring that the voice of affected communities contributes to and influences the decisions and policies that affect their lives. She is a member of the WHO HIVResNet Steering Group and co-chairs Working Group 5 on Governance and Enabling Mechanisms.
