Sriromi Manjula Maduwage
Biography
Dr Sriromi Maduwage is a senior Public Health Specialist in Sri Lanka. Holding a university degree in Medicine and postgraduate degrees in Public Health, including a Master of Science and a Doctor of Medicine in Public Health, she has extensive work experience in national and international public health, including disability care and rehabilitation. Dr Maduwage has played a leading role in improving accessibility facilities and assistive technologies for persons with disabilities, workforce management, and primary care reforms. She has been a technical lead in adapting and preparing the WHO prioritized assistive devices and assistive technology list for persons with disabilities in Sri Lanka. Additionally, she has played a key role in developing national guidelines for rehabilitation, including policy brief development on assistive technologies, and has been involved in capacity building for service providers on assistive devices. As a researcher in public health, she has conducted community-based surveys on assistive technologies. Under the United Nations Decade of Healthy Ageing, she has been recognized as one of the first-ever healthy ageing 50 world leaders transforming the world to be a better place to grow older.
