Biography

Tashrik Ahmed, MPH, PhD, serves as a Statistics and Monitoring Specialist at UNICEF, coordinating data and analysis in maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health. With over a decade of experience in epidemiology, his expertise lies in public health surveillance and strengthening health systems.

Previously, as a Senior Epidemiologist at the DC Department of Health, Tashrik led COVID-19 analytics and reporting efforts. His doctoral work took place in Liberia, supporting Ebola surveillance and creating national and community disease surveillance systems.

More recently, he led an analytical team at the Global Financing Facility and the World Bank exploring the effects of the pandemic on health services and pioneered a program to boost data use in GFF countries. Tashrik holds a PhD in International Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
