Vasantha Padmanabhan

Dr. Padmanabhan is Professor Emerita (In service) in the Department of Pediatrics (primary), Obstetrics and Gynecology, Molecular and Integrative Physiology, Environmental Health Sciences and Nutritional sciences. 

Her research focus centers on developmental origin of reproductive and metabolic disorders.  She studies the impact of maternal exposure to excess native steroids as well as endocrine disrupting chemicals on maternal / fetal milieu and offspring reproductive and metabolic health.  Funded for decades through the National Institutes of Health, USA, she uses animal models of translational relevance and a human pregnancy cohort in her research and  has published widely in high impact journals. She is Associate Editor of Reproduction journal and has served on several grant review panels.
