Yuguo Li is a Chair Professor of Building Environment, and Chair Professor (by courtesy) in the Faculty of Architecture, The University of Hong Kong, current serves as Associate Dean (Research) of Engineering, and was the former Head of Department, and Honorary Professor of School of Public Health. Li was a Principal Research Scientist and the team leader of indoor environments at CSIRO Australia prior to 2000 when he joined the University. He received BSc from Shanghai Jiaotong University in 1986 and did MSc in Tsinghua University in 1988 (passed, not awarded due to overseas study), and received from the Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden a Tech Lic degree in 1990 and PhD in 1992. His research interests are in building environment engineering. His current research topics include city climate, environment studies of infection, indoor environment and recently on distributed mobile air conditioning that he initiated. His team is currently exploring the possible evidence for airborne transmission of SARS-Cov-2. His work led to the findings of the roles played by airflow in the 2003 Amoy Gardens SARS outbreak. His work has also been supported by WHO, P&G, Boeing and Microsoft.
