Situation report

Overview

  • The weekly number of cases continued to drop for the third week. The number of new cases in the reporting week is 16 050, a 7.1% decrease compared to 17 276 cases reported in the week before. However, the weekly number of deaths is 83 compared to 80 last week.
  • Over the reporting week, number of cases decreased in all the divisions except Rajshahi. However, at the district level, Khulna, Pirojpur, Rajshahi, Gazipur, Kushtia, Rajbari, and Madaripur are showing an increasing trend of dengue cases, and each reported at least 250 cases this week.
  • Among the 80 deaths this week, Dhaka Medical College reported 15 deaths, 13 reported from Faridpur Medical College, 6 each from Kurmitola General Hospital, Dhaka and Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital, Barishal and 5 from DNCC Dedicated Hospital, Dhaka.
  • As the number of dengue cases show a slight steady decline in the last 3 weeks, the number of reported deaths is still concerning and require continued focus on the dengue case management.
