Coordination and Leadership

To inform the 2026 Health Sector Strategy, Joint Response Plan (JRP) proposal, and Technical Working Group workplans, the WHO-led Health Sector organized a dissemination workshop on 20 October 2025, presenting findings from the Public Health Needs Assessment (PHNA) 2025–26, Costing Analysis, and Essential Package of Health Services (EPHS) Assessment. The workshop brought together 59 participants from 30 partner organizations.

The PHNA, based on 2,014 household surveys, highlighted a continued burden of skin diseases and diarrhea, alongside rising cases of acute respiratory infections and dengue. Chronic illnesses increased to 32.5% of households, up from 19.2% in 2024. Access to care remained high, with over 90% of households using NGO facilities, although long waiting times, transport difficulties, and medicine shortages persisted. Maternal and child health indicators showed a decline, with antenatal care coverage falling to 35% and incomplete child immunization rising to 27.8%. Positive trends included a reduction in emotional distress to 21.6% and improved access to mental health and psychosocial support services (48.4%).
