Disease Outbreak Reported
WHO organized jointly with the Office International des Epizooties on 24-26 March 1997 a consultation on medicinal and other products in relation to human and animal transmissible spongiform encephalopathies.
The report of the meeting has now been issued and provides background information on TSEs and recommendations on measures to minimize the risk to humans from medicinal products and medicinal devices containing bovine tissues or human derived material, as well as from certain food products of ruminant origin.
